We believe in the integrity of trees and in the preservation of their natural size, shape, and character. We practice "Natural Target Pruning", a method that respects the tree's inherent abilities in resisting the spread of pathogens. Simply put, we make all of our cuts in the right place, and for the right reasons. Trees should add beauty and character to your property - ours do!
Planting Services
Our planting services start with you. Discussing what you like, from spring flowering to fall colloring, we are able to offer a design that fits your every need! When you are happy with the design, we will search our sources for the best possible plants and present you with a firm price. We then hand-pick each plant, whether one tree, or a complete landscape's worth of trees, shrubs, and perennials. We have a small planting crew, supervised (and helped!) by a licensed arborist, to ensure that all the plants do well. Do to fantastic results, this has been the fastest growing segment of our company; call us and see for yourself!
Cables and Braces
All trees are not created equal! Some have deep "V" shaped crotches that are prone to splitting apart. Properly installed support cables can minimize this risk without being obtrusive. Additionally, some limbs are just too heavy for their own good! If they are to remain, they might need added support.
Our arborists are trained in the proper installation of this artificial support for trees in need. In keeping with our self-imposed high standards, we use only the highest quality materials to protect your trees and you!
Insect and Disease control
Spraying is not a dirty word! Done correctly and responsibly, tree spraying is a process of helping trees deal with insect and disease problems. We practice IPM - Integrated Pest Management; a method of plant health care that minimizes pesticide use. In fact, our policy has always been to use the least toxic material in the smallest dose possible to obtain control. In many cases, horticultural oil is all that is necessary if applied at the right time!
Through frequent visits to your property during the growing season, we are able to control each major pest at the optimum time in order to minimize pesticide usage. Our IPM technicians are trained to inspect, identify, and determine the level of control necessary to keep your plantings healthy and attractive. They will spot new problems before they become a problem.
Inspections and Consultation
We love to visit properties and observe the trees and shrubs. We can help identify potential problems before they occur, saving you money and possible grief. Our CT Licensed Arborists can assist you in making intelligent decisions regarding your landscape based not only on aesthetics, but with your tree's health and condition as a contributing factor.
Lawn Care
We treat our customers lawns as if they were our own! We are believers in "spot treating" weed and disease problems. Just as in our very successful IPM programs, we use the least toxic materials in the smallest dose possible, to get the desired result. Our results speak for themselves!
